Laser Hair Removal

Removal of unwanted hair from any area of the body is now possible

The Institute Beauté is now able to achieve long-term hair removal in all skin colors and in suntanned skin with the Lyra™ laser. With the appropriate selection of laser, wavelength, light intensity and duration, and a number of treatments, all skin types and colors can be successfully treated. The effectiveness for long-term hair removal can be as high as 90%. Any hair regrowth is usually finer and lighter. Because the hair grows in cycles and only responds during the growing phase, multiple sessions (typically 3 to 6) about 4 to 8 weeks apart are usually required for optimal reduction.

Some Notes About Lasers

Lasers make an intense, coherent beam of light of one wavelength (one pure color). Specific lasers are used for a variety of treatments. For example, each laser has its own specific wavelength, which is only appropriate for that procedure being performed. The laser used for hair removal is different than the laser used for increasing collagen production in the dermis, which helps decrease wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks, and still a different one is used for lightening hyperpigmented areas of skin (commonly from sun damage).
